A haunted castle today

After a rain delay, the towers I started began to fail, around 2pm. As they continued to disintegrate, a story of the haunted castle began, with the people in the villages below paying homage to the spirits.

Good day on the beach

Thursday’s castle๐Ÿ’—๐ŸฐSo nice to have Marie Curatola with us for a few days๐Ÿ’—. Jesse and daughter Harper came by today๐Ÿ’—it was a good day on the beach ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿฐ

Hot day on the beach today

Barely a wisp of a breeze on the beach today; very hot! Met Marion and Jane Waggoner, celebrating their 59th anniversary ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ’—

Today was my 22nd sandcastle

Today was the 22nd castle built this summer. I am so very thankful I am able to be here in Lewes.๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿ™
I am thankful for my dear friends, John and Audrey Bewley, who keep me company while I work, and help me pack up๐Ÿ’— it was nice to talk to Beau and his daughter Hannah today, from Millsboro.๐Ÿ’—

Labor Day 2023

Labor Day on the Massachusetts Street Beach wasn’t as crowded as yesterday.I make a new castle every day, and this was the 21st one I made. ๐Ÿ’—Lisa and Toni walked up to visit me from the Market Street Beach๐Ÿ’— Scott Nathan, a photographer from Delaware Beach Life magazine came, and did some photos late in the day that will be in the summer 2024 issue.๐Ÿ’—

Crazy Crowds

Crazy crowds on the beach, (but there was a little calm buffer around my sandcastle.)
As soon as I came down this morning at 10:00, Wesley (7), Wyatt (5), Alexandra (7) and Savannah (9) all came, to carry and splash water on yesterday’s castle, to prepare for building today’s. ๐Ÿ’—Cecilia (9) was here with her parents, from Mertsville, PA ๐Ÿ’—

Today’s castle

Another Phoenix Castle, from the ruins

After last night’s destruction; 45 minutes to build up the base; and 4 hours of building and carving, a new castle today๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿฐ
Many people came to talk๐Ÿ’—So nice to see Colleen Davis Jacono !๐Ÿ’— Vaughn, grandfather to Eli (5), from Carlisle and Lewes ๐Ÿ’— Marna “found” me from the Market Street beach, and will bring her granddaughters Piper and Ainsley tomorrow ๐Ÿ’—Deb, from Hanover, and daughter Erin, from Gilbertsville were fun to talk with, and took lots of pictures ๐Ÿ’—Lee, from Lewes, brought her daughter Rachel, from Harper’s County, MD, and her children, Rowan (17) and Issac (12), that I taught when they were little!๐Ÿ’—
My favorite sand castle student was Aiden (10), from Wilmington ๐Ÿฐ. He was charming, with great manners! I also met his brother Owen, and their grandparents and parents.๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿฐ

Labor Day Weekend

So sad to come to the beach this morning, and see the total destruction of yesterday’s castle. It means so much work to rebuild the base.
