Since the castle from Saturday was pretty much intact, I thought it would be a good time to carve an alligator!
Late day castle today
I saw the 6:45 ferry leave, but finished! My beach days are now down to two more, before I have to go home to Pennsylvania on Tuesday.

A Castle, by Committee
Brother and sister Colton 7, and Dakota 6, from Swarthmore, PA, teamed with sisters Virginia 5, and Vera 3 1/2, from Delaware, to build a castle together. They worked well, taking turns with tools, and getting along.

Friday warmed up, as did I!
I had about an hour of prep work before 4 hours of building and carving, but needed another 20 minutes to finish the West side of the castle! The shadow stretched all across the dune path at 5:45pm – food and wine were calling me!

First castle since Monday!
I have videos of the beach Tuesday and Wednesday, but no photos. It was REALLY windy and chilly, and no building for me.
looking out toward the ferry; minus 1 tower, due to the wind. looking up toward the dunes.
Came down in a drizzle that changed to sunshine!
I start on the day before’s castle, splash it down, and put some more sand on top, and splash it again. This makes each day’s castle a little bigger than the day before.

One more castle before going back to Nashville
I was so glad to see Airek coming to the beach! He has a lot of joy building sandcastles, and joy is “catching!”

After Friday’s storm, a small Castle
I had to start from the ground up, and could only manage a small castle, hopefully the next one will be a little bigger.

A Nashvillian returns!
Airek, in his twenties, was in Lewes 2 years ago, and was bitten by the Sandcastle bug. He returned, and built a great Castle next to mine!

Very hot on the beach Thursday!
I was moving more slowly than usual, and even took a break sitting in the water for awhile, to cool off. When I took the picture, I had trouble finding the horizon where the water met the sky! I left a little earlier than I would have liked, because of the storm coming.
