The West wind was really strong on the beach today. Diane and Anthony Lombardo and John and Audrey Bewley came to sit with me, and Linda Mouradian stopped to chat, also. After the beach, we went to the Lombardo’s for a Happy Hour at their condo.
Nice day on the beach today! I met Lucy, from Milton, and her forever friend Deb, who was visiting from Glenside, PA. Linda (from Lewes) stopped by twice to talk.
Our friends, Anthony and Diane, from home came to the beach, along with John and Audrey. We stayed til 4, and went to Happy Hour at Irish Eyes. Afterwards, we went to the public beach, to sing and play a little music.
First day on the beach today, since Wednesday – it felt so good to build! Friends John and Audrey Bewley , and Anthony Lombardo and Diane Marie Lombardo were here, too! My Tom Sawyer “this is so much fun” worked on Tom Marsden, who built on the West side of the castle today!
Talked with Deb and Don, who have a house on Massachusetts Avenue about Lewes, back in the 60’s and 70’s. It was fun reminiscing about Franklin Hardware, Jack’s store, and old times.I met Colleen, who was walking the beach, getting sea glass, and asked her if she also collected Cape May Diamonds (she didn’t know about them.). So I showed her one I found today, and she came back later with one that she found!I was very happy to finish today’s castle!
Catherine Prendergast brought her Grandmum Eileen, who was visiting from England, and a British flag for me to fly from today’s castle! Her children, Asher and Hayley wanted to learn about building castles, and I showed them all that I know. What a nice day to spend with them!
Consequently, only the front of today’s castle was finished! (But people take priority over Sandcastles!π)
The wind changed, and is coming from the South West – bringing a few flies. For some reason, the East tower was taken out, even though it was on the leeward side
.I was enchanted by two little girls today that stopped by, with their parents. Louisa was 3 1/2, and will be here all this week.Ava will be three in November, and was here with her parents from Arlington, Virginia. It was fun showing them how to build a sandcastle!
Another beautiful day on the beach!
Birthday girl, Ruby – 7 today, was good company on the beach for me today.
Harper 4 1/2, and mom Hannah stopped for a lesson on stairs and village housesπThanks be to God I am here.ππ
The bay was calm, and skies were blue, with sunshine and light breezes from the South east. The volunteer Beach cleaners were working this morning. It was nice talking to Cindy, and teaching Ke’nali some sandcandcastle building tricks. I was alone today, but lots of people stopped by! Ruby, who will turn 7 tomorrow, had some great questions!Last, but not least, Morgan stopped to say that I taught her son Peyton years ago. We have mutual friends, Joyce Kintzel , Vicki Lunden , and Gin Mccaffrey π
