Kevin – one of my favorite guys came by today, to say hi!
He and his cousin, Ashley used to come and build castles. Kevin will be teaching High School Physics at Lake Forest, his alma mater. So glad to see him again!
Friday brought old friends, saying goodbye to some
It was wonderful to see old friends – brothers Alex (14) and Logan (11) from Baltimore, MD. More old friends who came today were brothers Daniel (8) Sam (11)and their cousin Brydon (12) from Washington, DC.
Sad to say goodbye to Kaitlyn (6) and her brother Andrew (3) from Stormville, NY

Goodbye to Kaitlyn, going home to New York
In front of my castle
Same great kids, new castles today
Amazing kids, wonderful castles
When I see these amazing kids on the beach, it makes my heart so happy!
They are creative, sweet, polite, and just amazing!

All castles were destroyed last night
We walked down to the beach this morning, and found that every single one of the kids’ castles, and mine were destroyed. Very sad and disappointing. I’ve been here since August 5, and we’ve had good kids/people. They must have just come down. I sure hope they go home, and never come back.
Monday on the beach with great kids!
There were lots of kids – lots of great castles today!
Rachel <11, Gracie 3, Kyra <8, Roxanne <9, Charlie <7, and Laynie <9 and their castle
Brayden 9, and Alyssa 12, from Dover, PA worked together and built a great castle!
Evelyn Ann 11, from Rutland, VT worked with Eli 10, from Washington DC on this castle
Here is my late in the day castle, with Evelyn Ann still working in the background.
Sunday castle building
We went to the 6pm vigil mass last night, so I was able to get to the beach a little earlier today.
After my camera and phone sat in rice, the camera seems to be fine. Phone is a little ‘iffy.’
Here are the pictures from Friday, when my camera was out of commission, and today’s pictures, too.
SO happy to see Charlie and Roxanne, their siblings and friends today!
Just one new castle today – no kids, just me.
It was nice to just take my time and build. Here at the beach, people check in on Saturday afternoon. I’m pretty sure I’ll have a bunch of kids tomorrow (Sunday.)
Here is a photo that Brendan took for me (since my phone and camera are still out of commission.)
Even though I don’t have a photo of Nathan’s castle today,
Even though I couldn’t post a picture of Nathan, Kylie and Bryce’s castle, I could tell you about the kids.
I taught Nathan last summer; he’s 12 now, and he an awesome job of teaching his sister Kylie 11, and brother Bryce 8 years old. They are great kids, and are from Delmar, Delaware – and built a wonderful castle together.
If the rice does its magic, and my camera does the Phoenix thing, I will post that picture.
great day on the beach, but
It was a great day on the beach today – built a bigger castle; and new kids came and built, but –
my phone AND my camera got wet somehow, in the bottom of my bag. I have both the camera and the cell phone in a big bowl of rice. Hopefully, the rice will do its magic.
