Building in August & September on the Massachusetts Street beach, in Lewes, Delaware
Author: Lynn McKeown
I started building sandcastles and sand animals with my kids when they were young. They outgrew it, but I didn't. I paint murals, and do the scenic art for theatre sets for our local high school.
Happy to be building with granddaughter Maura (8) and my son, Brendan, from Havertown, PA! 💗 Mike and Kristie, Lititz, PA, brought Penelope and Jackson, for a quick lesson 🏰 Sammie, Molly and their mom from Forest Hills, MD, also wanted to learn some techniques🏰

I usually hear “Are you the Sandcastle Lady?” But this afternoon, heard, “Are you Jack McKeown’s wife?”(!) It was Aaron Carney, who worked at Middletown Township with Jack!

As I typed the title of this post, I realized it could mean something I did over the winter, or that I am “over the winter.” I am “over the winter”, looking forward to warm weather, and sandcastle building! Here is something that I did over the winter on a salvaged trunk that now serves as a coffee table in my home in Pennsylvania.
The West wind was really strong on the beach today. Diane and Anthony Lombardo and John and Audrey Bewley came to sit with me, and Linda Mouradian stopped to chat, also. After the beach, we went to the Lombardo’s for a Happy Hour at their condo.
