The Sandcastle Lady

A castle a day keeps idleness away?

It was so good to see Ryan, and have him building next to me.

If I don’t talk too much to people on the beach (which is really hard for me not to talk too much!) I can get to a second layer castle.

My almost done castle today.

The sandcastle lady is stumped. I took the picture of these kids and their castle on my camera, same setting as all the other photos I took today, but my website says it exceeds the limit, and won’t insert it.
I can tell you that these three worked well together, and the castle was big (maybe that’s the reason?)
EUREKA! (not the vacuum cleaner.) I found a way around it – and here they are (I hope!)

Iris, 7 years old, said it was a 5 hour drive to Lewes that should only have been 3 hours, from Harrisburg. She did a nice job, and built her castle by herself.

This is the East side of my castle, being beaten down by the tide.

Rain and clouds over the beach on Thursday, so the Sandcastle Lady transformed into Gardening Lady. (Dirt, rain and sweat completed my disguise.) I wish I could say it was easier to pull weeds, but here in Lewes, when crab grass rizones spread, they can get to be 2′ long! I got a lot done, but there’s more to go. (I’m not hoping for a bad day, though!)

I had to say goodbye to a wonderful family today. Colin, Jameson, mom/Michelle, and Molly, from Toughkennamon, PA. I will look forward to seeing them again next August!

Today was a great beach day; enough clouds that it wasn’t too sunny/hot; nice breeze out of the Northeast.
