Building in August & September on the Massachusetts Street beach, in Lewes, Delaware
It was a nice day today, with a small breeze out of the East. I had the company of Elliot, an intelligent 7 year old friend from a great family I met on the beach. He kept up a good chat about the pyramids, lego land, ninjago, and lots of topics.
I had to start from scratch, since there was no sign of yesterday’s castle or mound. I wrapped an alligator around the bottom (I haven’t made one in a long while!)
Yesterday, I was home, due to the rain. It was raining this morning, but cleared, and I went down to the beach at 2pm, and built a castle. 
With wind coming onshore, Sunday was a gorgeous day. Here’s my Sunday’s castle – it’s rightside up, because I tricked the website by saving my Facebook post’s photo. I win (today – but who knows what technology will put me up against tomorrow?)

Jamie 6, and Damian 2 (but says he is 6) were good students, and built a castle together. They were in Lewes visiting their grandmother who came here from Baltimore and rented a house for their dad, uncle and cousins.

I am so happy to be back on the beach, and meeting and teaching kids.

I am packing up, getting ready to come to the beach on Monday, July 31. I hope to get on the beach by Tuesday – see you there!
I will be in Ireland this Saturday, til July 23, and know the castles there will be an inspiration for sandcastles.
I’ll be back on the beach August 1 – September 18 – can’t wait ?
