The Metal Detector Guy stopped by

The metal detector guy stopped by yesterday, to tell me that he had visited my website, and viewed ALL 15 PAGES! (I didn’t even know there were that many! I guess they go back to the 2010 Christmas, when Brendan built my website.)
He said that the photos drove his wife crazy. She is a very talented artist, working in quilting, and said that it’s such a shame because of all the work that goes into the castles and sculptures, and they don’t last.
I am happy building and carving, and that alone gives me pleasure. Having the photos on my website ‘keeps’ them, and that’s good, too!

left my camera home yesterday!

Yesterday was a beautiful day on the beach, and I did build (although the wind dried things out, and I had towers fall right in front of my eyes! Usually that happens overnight, with strong breezes, but the sun was strong, too.) I’m hoping I’ll be able to get back today, and take a photo.

I won’t have many more days like this

Sunday, I walked down to our beach, but the North East onshore wind almost kept me from crossing the dune. Monday, I tried again, and found the wind had changed and was coming out of the South West, and was more tolerable to me and my sandcastle building.
I will be here Tuesday, Wednesday, and will go home on Thursday. My new little mobile home is waiting for me, in Pennsylvania, in Village Green. I have much to do there, as I had barely moved in, at the end of July, before I packed up to move here to the beach.

Monday's castle, with a milder South West wind

beautiful day on the beach today

It was sunny, but there was a brisk breeze out of the West. A lot of people were on the beach today. I spent about 3 hours today, and enjoyed every minute.

3 levels of a castle, but I hope to get back tomorrow and do some more

Castle finished before supper

I was able to add 2 levels and a village to yesterday’s castle before it was time to go home.
Met a lovely lady, Judy, and her brother Ellis, who told me of their family’s history, in Georgia. It’s wonderful that their farm in Georgia has been in the family since 1810. Meeting people on the beach is a very nice perk of building castles.

I can never decide which photo I like
I like the sunlight in this one

a short time on the beach today

Well, actually, I was there from 2 till 5, but talked more than I built (can you imagine?)
Hopefully, I’ll go back tomorrow, and add another level or two, if the top holds up!

between all the talking, I was able to build a pretty good sized castle

A cold, rainy day – is it the forerunner of Fall?

I think this coming Saturday, September 21, is the first day of Fall. I’m hopeful that we will have a few more weeks of ‘summer’ weather, though.
I plan to be on the beach for as much time as I can these next 2 weeks, as long as the weather ‘holds’ at 70+, with a little sunshine.
Although it will be sad to leave the beach, I do look forward to going ‘home’ to our new home (we moved in late July, and then packed up for the beach, so there is still much to do there!) Also, a wonderful new neighbor will be waiting for us – Mr. William McCall – a very young 87 year old, whose attitude toward life is filled with SUNSHINE. I won’t miss the beach, as long as his sunshine warms us <3
