Back on the beach today!

After a trip home to Pennsylvania yesterday, we said goodbye to our friends from Texas at the airport this morning, and drove back down to Lewes.

It was good to be building on the beach, after a late start at 2pm!

Saturday and Sunday’s castles for me

Building castles is very good for me. It is difficult physically (making countless trips with 2 buckets, totalling 36-40 lbs) then scooping up sand, wetting down and packing it down.) It is mentally relaxing, carving, letting the sand speak to me.

I leave today, but will return tomorrow, after taking friends to the Airport.

Saturday’s castle (had to finish early, to go to church.)

Tate and Family back in Lewes

I first met Tate 6 years ago, when she was 3! She is 9 now, and lives with her family in Frederick, MD. It was so nice to see her and her mom (who looks and sounds like Candice Bergen!) They built a lovely castle next to me on Saturday.

A new castle, from the ground up

After our high winds, high tides, and not building since Saturday, I started a castle late in the day yesterday.

It’s small, but I hope to be back after a trip home.

Yesterday’s letter was B !

B is for Baby Lillianna (2 years old), who sat upon the castle that her dad, Jesse, was building for her. B also stands for their name, Bewley! They came to visit Grammom and Grampop Bewley who live down here year round.

Rowan and Issac are back!

It was 2 years since I saw Rowan and Issac, but they remembered all the Sandcastle making lessons I taught them, and put the techniques into good use! Rowan is 13, and his brother Isaac is 8. They came from North Harford, Maryland, to visit their grandparents, who live in Lewes. (And it makes me happy to see their creation, with the bridge and tower leading up to their castle and a cobblestone road – very nice!)

Albany family builds again!

Stephanie, the mom of the family sculpted a sea turtle🐢, and Greg, the dad, was going for a stairway to heaven 🎶🎵
