Casey and Morgan came back (first taught them on August 21) and built a spectacular castle.
I slowly built another castle today – just taking it easy – hopefully, my back and knee will strengthen)
Building in August & September on the Massachusetts Street beach, in Lewes, Delaware
Tara (16), Kellie (15), from Media, PA, staying in Wildwood, NJ, came over on the Cape-May Lewes ferry to learn and build!
Maddy (9) and Avery (8), from New York State, and Chadham, NJ, build a great sandcastle today.
Mom Robin, Porter (10), Olive (12), and friend Ellen (12), of Philadelphia, came to learn and build sandcastles.
Although I didn’t get down to our beach till 4pm, kids were ready to build castles! Some of them remembered me from last year.
Delaware’s Governor Markham issued a mandatory evacuation last night, and I packed all the buckets, molds, shovels and paraphenalia up from the dunes on the beach – I’ll be back building on Monday, August 29th (God willing, and the bay and canal don’t rise again.) Hoping we don’t lose power, and Hurricane Irene doesn’t damage our beach or cottage!
Thunder on the beach Thursday (Aug 25) put a stop to my plans to build ( I did have time to teach 2 great kids from Media, PA – Sydney and her brother, Quin, but the thunder chased us before I could get the picture of their castle with them.)
Met and taught a great family from Alexandria with 2 boys: Gavin (5) and Trevor (2 1/2); also met 2 cousins who got together here in Lewes – one from Herndon, VA; the other from Boyerstown, PA. And also had a great niece, Katie (6 1/2) from Phoenixville, PA and a granddaughter, Sofia (7) from West Chester, PA
