Every day, the castle of that day is my favorite. This castle makes me smile
Cecilia, 4, sitting in front of her castle
Cecilia is the youngest in a family of four children. She has an older sister, and two older brothers. She is very quiet (which is different from her siblings that I know!) She very quietly built her castle, and then quietly went back to her dad, when she finished.
Another late in the day castle, sitting with Charlie and Case
This castle of mine wasn’t started until after 3 o’clock, because I choose to spend time teaching and helping kids first. Charlie 5, from Frederica, DE and Case 6, from Magnolia, DE sat with me, and could barely wait till I said, “Yes, you can help me by making some trees.” My husband, Jack, took the picture.
Rachel 8, from Frederica, DE, and her best castle yet
Rachel’s castle today was her best, yet. She takes her time, and thinks about what she wants to put into it.
Brothers, cousins, & friends from Wilmington, DE
Zach 5, and Dylan 8 – brothers from Wilmington, DE teamed up with their cousins Thomas 8, and Will 5; and invited Bella and Scarlett, both 6, to build a castle together.
Melissa 7, and her castle
Melissa 7, from Magnolia, DE, was happy with her castle.
Shannon 8, and Cassie 10, from Magnolia, DE
Shannon and Cassie worked hard, making a forest of trees, with a small house in the middle of the woods. Their trees are made with one of my large funnels, using sand and a lot of water.
Annie and Maggie, building together
Annie is 10, from Wilmington, and Lewes, DE. Her cousin, Maggie is also 10, and came to Lewes from Medfield, Massachusetts. Together they built a good castle.
Case, 6, from Magnolia, De
Case’s castle was very unusual – if you look, you will see that his castle are within a sort of volcano.
Kelly, 10, from Felton, DE, and her castle
Kelly worked hard, on her castle, mostly by herself. Working in sand by yourself can be really, really fun.
