With one of my granddaughters today

It was great to have my granddaughter, Susie 14 years old, building today!
Since yesterday’s late castle was still in pretty good shape, I built another small one.

It’s a lot of fun to build sandcastles, and even more fun if there are friends sitting visiting with me! Audrey and John Bewley, friends from home came back today; and Michele Smith and James surprised me by coming and visiting today, too!

8-27-15 castle w Riley's cottage and steps My grandson, Riley – 6yrs+3days, taught a dad and his 3 year old son, Atticus, today. Riley carved the only cottage and stairs coming down, explaining how to do each step. (I’m a pretty proud Nana!)

Frank's 2nd castle w horseshoe crab 8-27-15 It is wonderful to come over my dune, and see a great creation on the horizon at the edge of the water! Sandcastle Dude II (aka Frank) built a great sandcastle next to mine. People had lots of compliments and comments! “It looks like a turtle top castle,” “I think it looks like a stadium,” and “the horseshoe crab looks like it’s defending the kingdom!”

My challenge today was to finish by 3:30 (to go to an early dinner

Today, my challenge was to finish a castle, and be OFF the beach by 3:30pm. Only a dinner with Brendan, Julie and Maura, at Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant could be incentive enough.

Frank and his modernistic castle Aug 24 2015 What a great surprise to see a new ‘sandcastle neighbor’ set up right next to my castle ruin (trampled last night.)

What a beautiful day on the beach today! The Northeast wind was still blowing, but not nearly as strong as yesterday. IMG_2534 SO happy to see my old friend Kira 8 (from 4 years ago!) and Maddy 9, and their huge castle and village.
